PROSEDURES

  1. To begin blood pressure measurement , use properly sized blood pressure cuff .
  2. Wrap the cuff around the upper arm with the cuff's lower edge one inch above the antecubital fossa .
  3. Press the stethoscope's bell over brachial artery just below the cuff's edge .
  4. Repidly inflate the cuff to 180mmgh .
  5. Release the air from the cuff at moderate rate 3mm/second .
  6. Listen with the stethoscope and simultaneously observe the sphygmamonometer . The first knocking sound is the subyek systolic pressure , and the knocking sound disappear is the diatolic pressure , such as 120/80 .
