MY WORK , MY EXPERIENCE ARE MY ADVENTURE
Was starting in 2008 - 2009 l have been getting job take care the elderly in Singapore . Sweet and bitter l felt it , no one know when l felt sad and hard with my job , but l was enjoying it although it hurts for me .
Yeah , people say " EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER " , " THERE IS NO SUCCESS WITHOUT STRUGGEL ".
The 1st time l get a job took care an elderly , l felt happy because the elderly were good to me and very quite , less talk , make me happy and no make me stress . She's very understanding with my religion , that's why l could did pray every time for my religion , and she wasn't fussy person . She was diligent too to do pray for her religion " budhis " . Even we're different religions but she's never insults another religions , she's always respect to each others , l love person like her . Her times just for pray and do good things , no time for talk others .
But it's very sad , because 9 months only l could took care of her . She passed away without sick or without other signal , very wonderful for me , she passed away with good death .
Simple story of her , in the evening after she took a bath then l prepare for her dinner around 5pm , she asked me to take her dinner earlier because she felt hungry . Soon l took it and fed her some porrig . With her smile and she said " thank you amoi ( me ) you help me " . And l answer back " ok good ahma , eat slowly " .
But then with sudden she asked me to stop to fed her " amoi ( me ) stop 1st , l want to pass urine , could you help me to take a pail .. ? Because my leg suddenly very hard to move and couldn't to walk " . Oh sure ahma " l said " . Few minutes l came back and bring the pail and help her to seat on top the pail to do pass urine . Just few minutes she's looked no strength on her leg , two legs couldn't move on . Soon l carry her up to the bed and put her , to laydown . Amoi ( me ) l wanted go to sleep , l wouldn't eat any more " she said " . Oh why ahma " l asked her back " . Because I'm tired and sleepy " she said . Ok ahma , you take a rest 1st " l said " .
But it's very amazing , she said would go to sleep and felt tired , but the truth she goes forever / die . Subhanallah . Death with easier , no felt pain or anything else , very wonderful death .
After she goes forever , then l was go back home to my country , 1st of year 2011 . Few months l was stayed at home , and then l find a job again to fly go back to Singapore .
This's the second time l get job to took care an elderly . The elderly were currently on dialysis . But l couldn't longer work in her , because they very fussy and not enough gave a good , not comfortable for me too . Just 2 months l work with them and then l broke it out / broke my contract with them .
In thirth times l get a job again , still took care the elderly . The third a job l took care the elderly a bit hard for me , and hurted my heart , because ahma very fussy and bla bla bla .. ( no need to tell , it's privacy for others personally ) , but their families and my bos good to me . I couldn't survived because really very fussy and couldn't stop work until over night , until late went to sleep. Day time couldn't rest , and was keep working , no gave off day . Rest only at the night if sleep . So l broke it again .
With my adventures of work , sadness , happiness , sweet and bitter all mixed become one story . Yeah one story was make me hurted in my live , but l must keep stronger and keep spirit to reach my idea and my success in my future .
The fourth a job , it's makes me happy because my bos and their relatives all good to me , and l could survived with them . But it wasn't took care the elderly , so l passed this story . No need to tell , all good . Thank you very much for this boss .
The fifth a job was took care the elderly currently on NGT , because he has had seriou sickness . He has Cancer on his brain and paralyzed , so l help him and took care him totally . But their families always help me if l need or otomatically if they know l busy they help me to took care their father / ahkong .
I was enjoying and could survived to do work in this boss . I could felt happy because their kindness to me , and their family always respect and help to each other .
My job was helping the elderly totally , because he couldn't did anything , he currently on NGT and paralyzed .
Every morning l woke up early to do check his condition and help him took a bath or clean his body with warm water . Clean the bed up and and gave him a bit exercises . Rest a while and then gave him breakfast and medicine was used by NGT . It was done , l gave him a rest and l was doing another work . And did not forget , every 2 hours or 3 hours l help the elderly turn the body right and left or straight because he couldn't move his body ( paralyzed ) .
If the elderly were getting cough and he has phlegm , l help him to did suct his phlegm with phlegm suction machine Slowly and carefully l did , because l knew that it's very painfull and suffer for him . And before do suction his phlegm , l should check the mechine's capacity , make sure it's wouldn't wrong . If we did wrongly , it's very painfull for his throat and could be fatal for the elderly . And then l have discussed to some nurse and a doctor for consultation his sickness conditions whether good or not good condition of the elderly , and some time their families also help it . I was enjoying at all the time with this job and l felt happy .
But it's not longer l worked to them , just 8 months - 9 months and then the elderly passed away .
The next sixth a job started on January 11 , 2016 . I have been working in this Boss for taking care the elderly currently on dialysis from 2016 until now 2019 . My job all the same following my previous jobs . But this job a bit different because she has therapy on dialysis , a week three times .
Few weeks after l worked in them , suddenly the elderly was seizured in the kitchen and fainted . But it's not first time l help elderly getting seizures and fainted , so l did slowly and not hurrying or nervous for help her ( elderly ) .
The first aid to help people getting seizures and fainting are :
1 . First aid for seizures , Put down the elderly ( people ) with laydown and support the head with pillow don't so high and don't too low , make the elderly sleep turn right or left and don't let her / him laydown straight / flat because it would be gangerous or fatal for him/ her if they could bite their tounge . And one more the important thing , we can't put anything on their mouth when they're getting seizures . Just lay down with slide position right or left .
2 . First aid for fainting , help the people laydown , elevate the foot area , loosen tight clothing , contact health centre if necessary .
Fainting can occur due to several reasons :
1 . Lack of blood sugar because it's too late to eat
2 . Lack of acute fluid
3 . Stand too long
4 . Phycological stress
Characteristics of people fainting
1 . Blood pressure drops
2 . The pulse movement is slow
3 . Cold sweat come out
And then l called ambulance , because it very hard to help her and really l couldn't to help it because her condition is really serius sickness . I just could help the first aid .
Some more , not only help her goes therapy in dialysis , but l help her to do inject insulin for her , due she has deabetes , and check her sugar level , give her medication etc .
And until now , l have been working here to taking care the elderly . What's my job .. ? And what l have been doing for her .. ? All l do .. !! Even though if she has appointment or admitted to hospital , it all l do for help her .
